Yes, there is. The primary meaning of 許嫁 is the agreement between two families, one with a young boy and the other a young girl, that they will have their kids marry each other in the future. The seconary meaning of the word is the same as 婚約者.

This mean I can take it that they mean exactly the same when referring to persons, regardless of how and when the two people are betrothed and whether they are consent or not, correct?

Strictly by the book, yes. By our 21st-century speech habits, no.
In today's Japanese, we would seldom use 許嫁 to refer to a fiance(e) unless the engagement was "arranged" the way I had described it in my last post. People will misunderstand you if you use 許嫁 to refer to someone you met in college or where you work.
