What language do you use?

Russian, English, Japanese.
Russian is my native language, so I naturally know it better than the other two.
I can read, write in English without difficulty and I understand it pretty well when I'm listening to it, but only if there is no terrible accent. As I almost don't have English speaking practice (if you don't count English lessons I had at school 16 years ago), I can barely speak it, though. Not that I have anyone I could speak English to.
I started learning Japanese only a year ago, so I almost can't write and speak it, but I already know grammar and most popular words, expressions and kanji, so I can read it with the help of a dictionary pretty fast and I also can understand quite a lot when I'm listening to it. For example, when I was listening to the Drama CDs of the Amnesia visual novel a couple of days ago, I revealed that I didn't understand only several words which I figured out from the context anyway.
Unfortunately, I don't know Vietnamese, so I'm glad that using English is allowed on this forum.

English: My native language.
Cantonese: I can understand what people are saying, but my speaking is a little rusty. I can't read or write it at all.
Japanese: I learned this in school, so I can manage basic conversation, as well as some reading and writing.
French: I learned a little in school, enough for basic conversation, but not enough to use it while travelling.

Cantonese & Mandarin: I am a heritage speaker, with sub-par reading and writing abilities...
Spanish & Japanese: I think I'm at an intermediate level. I can read stuff with a dictionary and patience.
German, Korean & Esperanto: Well my rudimentary knowledge amounts to better than nothing, i suppose

I'm a French man, so i can speak french.
I used to be terrible in English, but now i can read and listen properly almost anything. But speaking is still an issue because i've got a pretty heavy French accent.
I know basic grammar in German and Japanese, not enough to have any hope of holding anything but the simplest conversation.

I'm working to get better in Japanese in German and i wish to learn an another language. Maybe Polish or Italian

Also I studied Japanese at school for about 2 years in 3rd class, then quit, learn it now when I have free time.
