The knowledges of Japanese received from games are very limited, but they at least help understand games in Japanese, as well as memorize most popular kanji, phrases and usage of grammar. After a year of playing visual novels with Visual Novel Reader, I have become able to understand quite a lot when I'm reading or listening. At the beginning, I had to check translation of almost every word, but now it's mostly only one or two kanji I don't understand in a sentence and it often happens that I can read passages without any help.I would say learning Japanese from games is very difficult.

The kanji text of TMGS just so small, not good for someone with bad eyes as metokimeki memorial girl's side series and starry sky game series, both high school setting and story not heavy
