Why do people love an anime at start but when a critic says "this is shit" everyone suddenly thinks that particular anime is shit?

For example:

• High school DxD
• Sword Art Online
• Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei
• etc.

This is just a few examples there are many more but when a critic says something bad everyone suddenly agrees with them and jump on the bandwagon. Even the YouTuber the anime man had a video where he said that SAO was a 9.5 in his opinion and deleted the video month afterwards and said "S.A.O is shit!"

I think that when someone criticize an anime, they usually have some valid points to back their opinion up, such as shallow plot and characters, poor direction, plot holes, etc... Not sure about Mahouka or DxD, but in SAO case, eventhough it's enjoyable to watch to many people, it doesn't really have a well written story/ character development. So when someone point out the flaws in the anime, people who missed those will just change their opinions from "decent" to "shit".
Anyway, saying something is shit is much cooler

DxD is just another harem with lots of boobs to me, story is meh. SAO was good at first but turned shit later on.

I dun give sheet about critics, it's just straight opinion. Some are not even gud in the original source (like F/SN), nothing to watch but the fighting scenes, some are basically just shjet, but since I chose to finish it, I'll have some dignity to defend it, but most of the reasons are "bewbs" so... no need to say it out loud since I'm just a simple man

If just because some critic says shit, then you change your opinion so you not really like anime
Anime and cartoon both has many masterpiece, and of course, many bad anime and cartoon either. Anime better than cartoon just because the art much better.
On my side, not just anime, cartoon, even the normal movie has many worse movie, and more movie, more trash.

Vengeance, once something give you high hope at the beginning but bring disappoint to you at the end, you feels it wasting your time and want to erase that thing from existing in all meaning like isolating it from everyone. If you feel like that after you watched an anime, good! You are a yandere. What you want from anime? It is entertainment, if it is not, find an other one, why so serious?

It could be like others said, that there were valid points given which made them see it in a different way OR it could just be that they are just following the popular opinion regardless of whether they really agree or not. The latter is hardly uncommon behaviour after all.
