You're right, Some browser games it's Pay-to-win than client online game. TTTTTTTTTT
Oh, when you payed lots of money and it shut down, it's so much worse. What about your case, did you pay real money for it or just in-game currency?
As for the answer to my own question, my first otome game was Diabolik Lovers Haunted Dark Bridal. It surely isn't a game I'd recommend for a first playthrough, but I didn't choose at the time. I just wanted to read a fanfiction story based off Diabolik Lovers, written by a girl whose stories I liked. Overall, it was hard for me to watch the main heroine being abused, and my main interest every time I started a new route was "I wonder how she gets out of this mess". Laito's and Ayato's routes were the hardest to bear, the reaction to Reiji's route was 'meh' since I didn't find any romance there, Kanato's route was surprisingly touching because of how attached he got to the main heroine, and my favorite routes were Shu's and Subaru's. With Shu, it was fun to watch how the main heroine took the initiative since he was just lying somewhere most of the time, and how his emotions (and motivation) finally showed closer to the end of his route. As for Subaru, he was just the most normal guy out of them all and his route was the most ordinary (which was exactly what I needed after the horror of the preceeding routes).
