My weak spot is angst. I can accept hardship, struggle and loss. I can admire charas for their persistence or to sympathize with their pain. But when things get emotional is when I am realy moved. No matter if it's the main couple or side characters or even part of the common route. Like the story of Chiko from Ayakashi Gohan Okawari (human route). When he finaly got to sing for his human friend, I was all teary eyed too. Normal or bad ends also can make me emotional. If they have their own story. Like the bad ends in The Second Reproduction. I dare to say they are better and more interesting than the good ones. But... the story have to be good enough to make me care about it's characters and their fate.

Another question from me: guys of what type of personality do you usually prefer to romance in otome games (tsundere, kuudere, deredere, dandere, yandere and etc)?
I must say that, though it may be unusual, I... really like yanderes. Specially when they are shotas. Nowadays, I don't like Diabolik Lovers, but it was my first otome game. And guess who was my favorite? ...YEP, Kanato. I must say that he had some extreme moments, but apart from that, he was my fav character in Diabolik Lovers. If there's anyone here who also likes yanderes, play Nameless. It's a Korean otome game and has an english version. Really, really good.

Hello, welcome to the thread. :) There are at least two people who like yanderes in this thread (including me), so it's not so uncommon. I could advise lots of otome games with yandere characters, but yandere shotas (and, probably, shotas in general) are pretty rare. Apart from Kanato from Diabolik Lovers and Yeon-ho from Nameless, only one have come to my mind - Saionji Seri from Gekka Ryouran Romance. Also, if you play 18+ games, you could try checking out Ikuto from Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi.

Oh hi, thank you! It's nice to talk with another yandere characters fan, haha. First of all, sorry if my English is bad, it's not really my first language.
Yeon-ho is one of my favorite characters and I cried for him, my poor baby. I don't play R-18 games, but I've played Gekka Ryouran Romance. Although I really enjoyed Seri's route, I didn't actually love the game. Most of the characters weren't my type, but it was good overall.

What are your favorite yandere characters?

Rilleine Don't worry about your English, it's a second language for almost everyone on this website. Also, I think, your English is pretty good.
Gekka Ryouran Romance is a very peculiar game with extremely odd romantic interests and plot, so I understand your opinion.

My favorite yandere character is Mochizuki Akira from Sachi no Tenbin. It's a +18 game, though. Apart from him I like Mejojo from Black Wolves Saga, Ruki from Diabolik Lovers, Aoi from Gekka Ryouran Romance, Ikuto and Hasui Tomoomi from Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi, Seizh from Under the Moon and Toma from Amnesia.

BWS is one of my favorites otome games! I loved both the story and the characters. Guillan and Julian were one of my favorites, too bad they weren't in Last Hope. Julian was really sweet~ Never forget Auger and his TROLL ending.

I have to say, this is an unexpected answer. Personally, I don't remember feeling anything in particular during such scenes. Well, maybe there were some touching moments, like in Ijiwaru MyMaster, when Frantz admits to the main heroine that he is Homura and they recreate their first sex how it would happen if they weren't carried away to the Demon world, but such moments were very rare.
Rilleine Hello and welome to my thread~

oh, actually i have a many moments which make me moved, but i can't Explain it all... TTTTT

Totally Mejojo from BWS and Ukyo from Amnesia. Though tbh, I kinda doubt if I should consider Mejojo to have gone crazy because of love... maybe his love for his mom counts too :3

I don't always like yandere, but good yandere routes are the most memorable.

From my experience, for most yandere there are predisposing factors which cause their abnormal behavior in love relationship, mostly a wrong upbringing or a serious psychological trauma. In Mejojo's case, the situation is rather bad since there was pretty much nothing normal in his past and there is an entangled mass of reasons that makes him who he is. First of all, constant assassinations made him paranoid and distrustful of others. In turn, it narrowed down his social boundaries to Auger and his mother, causing his fixation on them. Unlike Auger, he had a great need in a loving and trusting relationship and there were only two people who gave him what he needed. That's why, the death of his mother and the way she died crushed him. A woman he loved and, as he hoped, loved him in return, left him and manipulated him into killing her, giving him an example of twisted love and leaving him a lesson "kill or you will be killed". On top of that, he couldn't help feeling guilty for taking part in her death. I think, that moment determined his future relationships with women - he wanted a relationship he failed to have with his mother, he wanted to be truly loved and never left behind. Which Eleanora totally failed to do. Inadvertedly killing a woman he loved (or at least was fixated on) again, he relived his past trauma, which drove him further into insanity. I think, after that he lost all hope that his wish to be loved would be granted and simply wanted Fiona to be within his grasp, even against her will (as a gratification of his second wish to not be abandoned). That's why he could finally obtain peace in Last Hope, when Fiona stayed with him by her own will and admitted liking him. And that's why, choosing to save Auger over Mejojo in Last Hope deals a final blow to him, making him find a refuge in a delusion and quickly die (speaking of deeply moving moments, that was one of them for me, I cried a river when I was watching that scene).

It's the same with me. Personally, I don't like seeing a main heroine being objectified, murdered, confined and etc, so I can enjoy romance with a yandere only when it achieved a level of trusting and loving relationship. However, yandere routes are usually most vivid and interesting. Also, a yandere character makes me want to understand his personality and the reasons for his actions (like Mejojo).

I thought so, actually. It's a pity that we have to deal with a language barrier here. It would be interesting to hear your thoughts at least in Thai language (with Google Translate), but, unfortunately, only Vietnamese and English are allowed on this forum.

It's one of my favorite games too. Yep, Auger and his TWO troll 'happy' ends, haha. Fiona, with her naivety and total ignorance in all matters concerning relationship, is surely not someone you could trust with taming a psychopath.

I haven't played Last Hope, so thanks for sharing your insights about Mejojo based on that version <3.

I think Mejojo's route was amongst the most brutal yandere characters I've experienced, but his inner conflicts were so well portrayed by the narrative, specifically the POV switch to give flashbacks of his childhood. Before I could even be traumatized by Mejojo, my heart was already crying out loud for his little self. To me, how he survived was a miracle. I even sided with him through his cruel treatment of the heroine and the black wolf race (yeah I know my view is so warped...but the storytelling technique of BWS totally overpowered my feeble mind :3).

Even if I found it incredible for MC to have her happy ending with Mejojo in Bloody Nightmares (BN), I still love him and his route. No argument needed :p.

On the other hand, Auger is my least favourite character in all Otome games and novels I've read. I felt so blind because I was deceived by how loyal he had been to his brother as a child. Tbh, his character development was rather cardboard cutout, even if it's inconsistent in one of BN endings. His route has as much potential as Mejojo's, but Rejet failed to deliver it, at least for me :(

Also, I feel threatened by Auger's gay tendency towards his brother :3. I want him to keep his hands off my Mejojo :p

Lastly, I'm looking for other Otome games with powerful storytelling on par with BWS in terms of smooth POV switch, poetic gore, skilful pacing and thought-provoking demonstration of gray morality. The only time I've seen something equally fascinating was in CUPID visual novel, but I hope to find such high quality Otoge
