Haven’t seen this question up here yet. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I far prefer all ages otome games over R18 ones.

R18 games I’ve played have left a bad aftertaste with:
1) The irksome rapes (e.g. Sugar Beans’ games)
2) Mistreatment of the heroine (e.g. where she gets ‘doll-ified’ in Torikago no Marriage)
3) Kinky 3P routes (e.g. the route where the heroine is unwillingly 3Ped in Gin no Kanmuri Ao no Namida and became a man-hater who yuried with her female friend. Poor girl, can’t blame her for being traumatized. (╬ಠ益ಠ))
4) Awful, unnecessary bad ends (Vampire Sweetie)
5) Bland or poorly-written stories (Dessert Love – it was too dull for me, though the poor system probably made it far worse for me. It forced me to wait for the sentence to fully materialize on the screen before allowing me to click, and that was terribly irritating, since I finish reading the text very quickly)

^ Just to name a few of my gripes.

I did enjoy Hatsukare Ecchi – Satoru hen though. It was short, fluffy and pointless but who needs plot in this? XD It was also great that the heroine could be more domineering in certain ends. I love aggressive heroines. ;D

I don't have much experience with R18 otome games but just like you said, I think the majority of R18 otome games doesn't belong to the category of high quality, they lie somewhere between utter shit to mediocre segment.

And one more problem that makes people nope the hell out of this genre.

Thus this problem doesn't bother me that much because I like twisted scenarios, with as much as craziness as possible. This is one of the main benefits that R18 things can offer but all ages games can never satisfy.

But to be honest, I'm kinda bias towards all ages games because I prefer platonic love, without being tainted by sex. And sometimes, creepy things can happen in all ages games too (it's just like hunting Easter eggs, it's fascinating in a way). For all ages games, with proper writings, the level of creepiness can far surpass those R18 things and send chills up my spine

Yes, I dislike R-18 games for all the reasons you have listed above. All hail all-ages otome games :201:

Also I have another reason why I tend to stay away from R-18 stuffs, but not really a legit reason though.

Actually this is mostly me being childish. Although I can read R-18 stuffs just fine, I somehow view sexual activities as something inappropriate. So when I think of my favorite characters doing those things, I get really flustered. The only thing I can handle is fluffy hand holding and hugging and kissing, to sum it up, platonic love. Anything more than that is foreign territory that I prefer not to tread upon. Even though I know sex is a normal thing human do and I'm already over 18. It's kinda funny though.

Recently, I am playing Kuro to Kin Akanai Kagi and it is my first R18 Otome Game. My opinion about this game is "Lots of shameful sound is in my head..." >////< I like hearing boys making these shameful sounds but I don't like the heroine :(( Because she thinks that sex is important for their relationship and she is so...weak, she can't fight back, just lying there and being raped.... T.T Forgive for my childish opinion :140:

@ Sibyl: I have to admit that your post made me laugh with how snarky you are. XD :uong2:

Ahh, I see. Personally, I tend to avoid gloomy/ twisted game with characters bogged down by emotional baggage. I do like the sound of Bocchi Musume x Produce Keikaku though (my idea of a hilariously crazy game filled with twisted scenarios).

Yeah, I prefer it platonic as well, without the blighting by sex. (´ω`*)

What are some all ages otome games that you find creepy? (I’m interested in them even though I like things fluffy and blissful, how contradictory I am. (ノ*゜▽゜*)) The only creepy games I can think of would be Moshi, Kono Sekai ni Kamisama ga Iru to Suru Naraba and the Diabolik Lovers series (which I consider more of trashy then creepy…).

@ __Aoki__: Oh my, you are so cute! |萌|・´∀`・)ハァハァ 萌えぇぇ↑:76: I don’t think you’re childish or funny though (I think you’re adorably pure *coughs*).

While I wouldn’t get flustered over sex, I feel relatively neutral about it. (¯\_ಠ_ಠ_/¯ < this emoticon sums up how I feel half of the time when watching R18 scenes (the other half of the time, I’m raging at the atrocities committed). Maybe that’s why I have a tendency to force skip through those scenes. Rarely will those scenes elicit a positive response from me. The only time they did… the heroine dominated the guys and I LOL’ed (let me apologise beforehand if mentioning that makes you flustered!). Despite enjoying Hatsukare Ecchi, I was still pretty neutral during most of the R18 parts (but hey, it was definitely fluffier than the usual ones I’ve seen).

@ ShiraYuki167: ‘Lots of shameful sound in my head’ sounds like you’re listening to R18 drama CDs. XD Why not listen to those if you like such sounds? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) I personally don’t care for those sounds so great voice acting wouldn’t be a charm point of R18 games for me.

I’ve not played Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi yet, so I can’t comment on the heroine (I don’t recall disliking a heroine before, so I doubt she’ll be the first. The worst I feel towards heroines is exasperation). In my case, my opinion of the male characters will worsen if they rape the heroine, not the other way round. :188:

You don’t need my forgiveness. XD Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions, even if it’s differing ones. ^_^

rainbowcakes I think the main reason which makes something really creepy in an all ages otome game is that you didn't expect it at all. It just jumps out of nowhere, then leaves you speechless thinking about what it means. Besides, the game only stops at implying things so how creepy it is depends on your own interpretation.

That's why I'm really reluctant to give you some recommendations. Since you'll have expectations beforehand, so when the scene really comes, you won't feel it as creepy as it should be. Some infamous examples can be: Black Wolves Saga, Nameless, Gekka Ryouran Romance...

99% protagonist will just lay there like a log and then let the guys do whatever he wants. What they do and say is also repetitive so I can understand why you want to force skip through those scenes (I do the same thing too :v). The only thing that prevents me from doing this is a proactive protagonist, where she teases those guys, takes control of the situation and does something kinky, out of the ordinary ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

I've played Kuro to Kin no Akanai Kagi before. She's not that bad, just normal, and definitely not weak at all. She can't fight back these guys (because of course, they are guys, they are naturally stronger than women) and I don't see this as a sign of weakness.

Sibyl I think she could refuse and run away when the guys wanted to rape her, but she didn't :(( I have got the Black End of Ikuto, perhaps she could go somewhere to hide away from them. When seeing the MC begged to stop being raped, I have cried a lot, because of the pain and tear she had to suffer.....:nucno:
I appreciate your opinion a lot, maybe mine is somehow not very accurate because I have just play one R18 Game ^^ Thank you for your opinion :188:

ShiraYuki167 Do you really think she can persuade a guy who has already broken the siscon yandere limiter and chosen to follow his D instead of his head? If it's in Black end, the situation's pretty bad and I don't think Ikuto can stay normal anymore. Moreover, this is her only family, she has nowhere else to run and Ikuto won't leave her any chances to do so.

It's really admirable that you can sympathize with characters in a game. I don't recall crying in some desperate situation like this. Sometimes I just have to wonder if I'm really an emotionless person. But it can be that I've never experienced these things before so I can't imagine the horror.

I understand what you say. I appreciate your opinion a lot, maybe I am a fragile one so I know how the MC's feeling. Poor MC, she is very cute and a good girl, a good sister. I am looking forward to play the Happy End of Ikuto so much, I want to see her happy :123:
Btw, can you introduce me some more R18 Games that you like? ^^
