He’s comparing him trying to up the odds like how it works in for example school entries. And it doesn’t end there, in school and in life that is just the beginning.
Everything he has done up to today is for this purpose. He expects a call from her very soon. The phone he was gripping is ringing. He picks the call up after a few rings. He tried calling her 30 min earlier, but she didn’t pick up so this is payback for that time.
She seems displeased when he asks about that, and says that she wants to confirm something.
He asks her if she can meet him face to face. She says it’s fine but don’t she won’t take responsibility if other people see them. They arrange a meeting later. He looks around his room and sees himself and his face in the mirror and looks away.

Kei pauses a bit and asks if it’s okay to talk later since she has to prepare, and that maybe she shouldn’t have come. There may be other boys coming and she doesn’t have time to mind him any longer.

He called Kei to the cafe to show him and Hiyori talking, he doesn’t believe he needed to, really but it’s a way to show how he is not skilled at love.

Kiyo says that it wasn’t a joke and wants to hear her answer. Kei says she can’t say something like that now. He says that if he didn’t like the rumours, he would have denied it or ignored them. «I’ve… also… fallen in love… It’s vexing, but… I admit it! I said I admit!»
Kiyo wonders why she seemed angry at the end. Kiyo stretches his arms on both sides of her and Kei is panicking, thinking he is about to kiss her. He thinks she won’t dislike it, but he won’t do it now. He says that he won’t, yet. She repeats his words stammering. He literally says that he may do it in the future and Kei realises it and freezes. He gently embraces her. Proof of their developed relationship. He asks if that’s okay if it’s only just that. She says it is. He knows without seeing her face that she is bewildered, nervous and full of joy, a smile. Kei says that he has grown a bit and he says perhaps so. He thinks he has grown, everyone has grown. Humans are creatures that learn. To ride the bike, swimming, using chopsticks, using a straw, he is learning love through her. Something he has never learned. Something he couldn’t have learned in the WR. And one more important meaning why it was Kei.
That this romance is necessary for her own growth. She felt her relationship with him was necessary this last year. She can’t stay as a parasite, living on her host. He needed to take this step to stop that.
He wonders what face he is making now. Is he smiling? Is he embarrassed? Or bewildering or smiling? He doesn’t know. He doesn’t know that face he is making.
No. He knows deep inside him. What face he is making, what he is thinking, what he wants to do. People find joy in learning. Whether academics, sports or games. They enjoy ascending. Romance is the same. He doesn’t know romance, he doesn’t know romantic love(恋), he doesn’t know familial love(愛). Not shame, nor pleasure. He believes he will experience those in the future. But nothing will change. It’s just learning. Growing up and then move on. It can be said that Kei is just the name of the study book about the opposite sex. He thinks he was disliked by her since he rejected her so he asks what of it. Kei says that Satou has been asking her if she parted with Hirata to date him. She’s been denying that of course, but she isn’t sure how much Satou believes her.
He says he has been asked the same from Matsushita. Kei becomes pale and asks whether he is joking or not. He explains that Matsuhita has been hiding her abilities and became suspicious of Kei and him. Kei can’t take it all in. After a while she wonders if Kiyo has any plans against it and Kiyo says to just leave it. Kei says that won’t do and that their relationship is nothing after all.
He asks if she hates people thinking there is something when there is nothing. And even if Matsushita leaks the rumour, they should just let her he suggests. Kei wants him to say to Matsushita that there is nothing between them and Kiyo counters that it will have the opposite effect. Kei says that he should have known that beforehand or asks why he lied. He says that it wouldn’t have changed the situation since Matsushita is friends with Satou and could have heard about Kei and him from her. Kei reluctantly agrees.
Kiyo thinks that the more they deny it, the more it becomes a conviction so he decides to play the first move. Kei is more worried about the rumour about her ditching Hirata for Kiyo spreading throughout the school. Kiyo asks why she is bothered by that and Kei says it will have an impact on her, she stands up points and him and says that if there is someone of the opposite gender behind them, people is less likely to approach them.
Kiyo asks if he is in the way of her new love. Yes, she says. He understands since after Sudou proclaimed his love of Suzune, it’s harder to approach her.
Since Kei doesn’t believe he understands, she mentions Shiina and how he is on good terms with her. Kiyo, wonder who Shiina is and says her name Hiyori without suffixes. Kiyo only calls Hiyori, Kei, Haruka and Sakura by their names. He says they are on good terms and they both love reading books, and asks if there is something wrong with it? Kei’s face colour changes.
So you have the same hobbies? Reading? Hee?.. Hee, a totally different reason compared to me, she says(?). He says what about it and Kei is frustrated at herself for forgetting the next thing she wanted to say. Then folds her hands and look away.
Then she proclaims that if rumours of Kei and Kiyo are spreading, it will be harder for Kiyo to get closer to Shiina. Kiyo agrees. Kei says she don’t have any say in who he wants to get closer to and turns her back at him.
Kei pauses a bit and asks if it’s okay to talk later since she has to prepare, and that maybe she shouldn’t have come. There may be other boys coming and she doesn’t have time to mind him any longer.
He asks what her motivation is. She says she wants to find a new boyfriend, something wrong with that?
He says no. Right? So I’ll leave now, she says. Kiyo thinks he has teased her too much. He stands up and Kei thinks he will send her off and says it’s fine not to. He says her name ‘ Kei’. He says that if he didn’t like the rumours, he would just have ignored them. She says «Haa?»
He asks her if she wants to go out. She doesn’t understand what he is saying. He repeats his question. She says she can’t understand the meaning of his words. They look into each others’ eyes. And they both seem to converse without saying any words.
Kei gets flustered and says it’s a bad joke. If only that was a joke, Kiyo says. Kei can’t understand since he just talked about getting closer to Shiina and he says that was only a joke. He says that was just a little test of him to see if Kei would become jealous. He called Kei to the cafe to show him and Hiyori talking, he doesn’t believe he needed to, really but it’s a way to show how he is not skilled at love.
Kei says that if he is joking, she will end their relationship right now, and that it’s his last chance to retract those words if that was a joke. Kiyo says that it wasn’t a joke and wants to hear her answer. Kei says she can’t say something like that now. He says that if he didn’t like the rumours, he would have denied it or ignored them. She gets flustered and asks why, why on this day.
He wonders himself why, he can’t explain it well but he wants to stop anyone from claiming Kei as their girlfriend. She asks whether he likes her with stuttering words. He feels her strong emotions behind those words, he felt his heart fluttering and can say the next words with with conviction. «That’s right, I love Karuizawa Kei». That was supposed to be a big event in one’s life. He asks what her answer is. Her mind seems to be in chaos before she collects herself and she finally looks directly at him. «I-i can go out with you, for your sake… you know»
He wonders if that means she also likes him. She is surprised he wants her to say that. He wants to hear her reply and is waiting and says to her that he wants her to say it. There is no 3rd party listening, no contracts, just those two, their own conversation, their own promise.
Kiyo asks if she can’t answer. She says to give her some time to calm herself as she puts both her arms in front of her to stop him. He waits a few seconds for her to direct her sight on him. She is stammering and struggles to say it and he thinks that is strangely adorable so he waits a bit more. He sees that she is channeling all her courage and says to himself to not look away.
«I-I love, I think, or should I say….»
«I’ve… also… fallen in love… It’s vexing, but… I admit it! I said I admit!»
Kiyo wonders why she seemed angry at the end. Kiyo stretches his arms on both sides of her and Kei is panicking, thinking he is about to kiss her. He thinks she won’t dislike it, but he won’t do it now. He says that he won’t, yet. She repeats his words stammering. He literally says that he may do it in the future and Kei realises it and freezes. He gently embraces her. Proof of their developed relationship. He asks if that’s okay if it’s only just that. She says it is. He knows without seeing her face that she is bewildered, nervous and full of joy, a smile. Kei says that he has grown a bit and he says perhaps so. He thinks he has grown, everyone has grown. Humans are creatures that learn. To ride the bike, swimming, using chopsticks, using a straw, he is learning love through her. Something he has never learned. Something he couldn’t have learned in the WR. And one more important meaning why it was Kei.
That this romance is necessary for her own growth. She felt her relationship with him was necessary this last year. She can’t stay as a parasite, living on her host. He needed to take this step to stop that.
He wonders what face he is making now. Is he smiling? Is he embarrassed? Or bewildering or smiling? He doesn’t know. He doesn’t know that face he is making.
No. He knows deep inside him. What face he is making, what he is thinking, what he wants to do. People find joy in learning. Whether academics, sports or games. They enjoy ascending. Romance is the same. He doesn’t know romance, he doesn’t know romantic love(恋), he doesn’t know familial love(愛). Not shame, nor pleasure. He believes he will experience those in the future. But nothing will change. It’s just learning. Growing up and then move on. It can be said that Kei is just the name of the study book about the opposite sex. After he is done reading it, her role is over.
Or maybe.
A future where that doesn’t happen is waiting. Maybe she will become an existence he can’t leave behind?

Về Honami. @Meiyaku: Xem dịch thế này ổn không.
Ichinose đang suy sụp bởi tình trạng hỗn loạn của lớp sau thất bại trong kì thi vừa qua. Kiyotaka bắt gặp cô nàng đang đứng dưới mưa. Honami bảo main quay lại và để cô một một mình. Nhưng tất nhiên main nhà ta vẫn đặt ô xuống và ở lại.
"Ayanokouji-kun bạn sẽ bị cảm lạnh mất..."
"Cậu cũng vậy mà."

Thấy Kiyo sẽ không rời đi nếu cô vẫn ở đó, Ichinose quyết định quay lại. Họ không dùng ô vì nghĩ răng nó không cần thiết.

Honami lại yêu cầu main quay về và nói răng cô không muốn trở lại, ít nhất là bây giờ. Kiyo đáp rằng cậu cũng sẽ ở lại.
Kiyo sau đó giúp cô nàng lau người. Cảnh này cơ bản là fanservice với việc main nhà ta vuốt tóc, vuốt má rồi dùng ngón cái mơn trớn đôi môi con nhà người ta.
"Năm tới, mình muốn gặp cậu, chỉ có hai ta, giống như hôm nay. Không dính dáng gì đến chuyện giữa các lớp hết, mình chỉ đơn giản muốn ở cùng cậu thôi."
Về cơ bản đây là lời hứa của cả hai, đảm bảo sẽ sống sót trong năm học tới để có thể gặp nhau.
Cuối cùng, Kiyotaka nói nếu lớp B rơi vào hiểm cảnh thì cậu sẵn sàng hỗ trợ hoặc tặng phát kết liễu (main nói kiểu nước đôi).
Về Hiyori thì chưa thấy có gì nhiều lắm.
Cả hai đi ăn với nhau rồi thì bàn chuyện về sách, về lớp, rồi thì về Ruyen. Bằng trực giác, Hiyori đã cảm nhận được sự nguy hiểm của main và nhận định đây sẽ là đối thủ đáng sợ nhất mà lớp C sẽ phải đối đầu. Kei nhìn thấy hai người nên nổi cơn ghen (thực chất là do main cố tình).
Đúng là main vẫn là main, đã quyết định tỏ tình với một người rồi nhưng vẫn thản nhiên thả thính gái khác như không.
