I am not sure if it counts, but my first visual novel/dating sim was probably Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side. I fell in love with dating sims and otome games after that at least.

but im just another english speaker posting for the first time.

i dont know if many people have read this VN but my first VN that i had read and still one of my favorites is Kana ~Imouto~/Kana ~Okaeri~ still one of the best tear jerking stories i had read. other stories also love is the Da Capo (I-III) Series and its sidestories

If I remember correctly, my first visual novel must have been Hakuouki. Playing it was the first step leading me to the road of visual novels. Even now, I still cannot forget it

The first visual novel that I remember to play and enjoy plenty was Hakuouki for 3DS in english. (I'm very sure that this not was my first visual novel, but it's the first that I remember playing until the end and win the finals.) So, Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side, but for the gameplay so active, I don't consider it a visual novel. They are otome games. Then, Amnesia Memories, Ijiwaru My Master, Hotokenser, and so many others that I can't remember.
I'm so excited because recently was released Hakuouki Edo Blossom for PC. I need to play it urgently!!!:76:
