How do you prefer your otome: VN style or with gameplay?

I prefer visual novels as I tend to play otome games more for the story. If I'm looking for gameplay, then I usually get that from playing regular (non-otome) RPGs and the like.

I like both most of the times. I mainly play Otoge for the story so I'm fine if it's just story segments and dating things with cute sprites but it's refreshing to have some kind of minigame after a long segment. For exmple having some kind of puzzle or escape room to choose a route is nice! However I'm not so fond of minigames where you have to get a certain score...

I got attracted to the game because of the story and characters, but usually it's the gameplay that make me stick to the game.

I liked RPG games with romance elements like the persona 3 , etc . But a dating sim is okay too because there aren't any good rpg games with the female leads.

Tokimemo is probably the only stat-raiser I can stand to play, but even then I have to be in a certain mood to have the patience to tap xD

VN style is definitely more relaxing, especially if the worldbuilding and story are really immersive.

Hi! I'm new. I think that both of them are great. I really like Tokimeki Girl's Side and Angelique. But other games like Amnesia (visual novels only) are great too. Maybe only depends if you want to see, read and, (why not?) "live" a good story or interact and be more active in the story. For me, that's the only difference. And visual novels and gameplays... All of them in otomes are welcomed!!!

I want just classic VN style with it comes to OTOGE since I dont wanna do much work on just winning over dudes. I will play a non-otome game for the gameplay.. Im not into rpgs so itd suck for me

I can second that! I mean, sometimes I play otome games just to get off all the action you know?
There are plenty of RPG games, or even ones like Touken Ranbu, but sometimes, I just need a plain visual novel, with some voice acting behind it to boost the feeling!
