I haven't played many games with gameplay, so there may be even better ones. Here are just these I liked most so far.

For a good balance gameplay/story I recommend Koibana Days. The guys are sweet, guardening is manageable and the ark with the spy for the Agricultural Academy was interesting. Also in this game I found some ironic winks toward other famous otoges. It was fun.

Again decent balance I found in Kiniro no Corda 3~Another Sky~feat Shiseikan. To win the competitions is mandatory. But every guy has his own preferences about music and arangement, that sometimes get in conflict with what you need. The story here I liked most from all Corda 3 so far(Haven't played Amane yet). It's like in the anime and their struggles to regain the good name of the club and to befrend again the members that quit and made the brass band club is touching. At least for me. (I also love very much first two instalments of the game, but they are more about the music and the storry is a little bit short. Still Corda 1 and 2 are highly addictive even if you aren't an avid fan of classical music)

Tokimeki Memorial Girls Side 3rd story is another good story. But it come in bits and pieces, especialy in the beggining. The boys first have to trust and like you and then they can show or tell their troubles, secrets and struggles. The same goes for the first two games too, but I tink in the third it's better balanced.

Still havent't played but others recommend Real Rode - an RPG about an RPG and Wand of Fortune - wich is famed almost as the hardest to play, but the reviewers praise the story high. They are my next in line.

I hope you can find something to your liking.
And if someone has played something good with a little bit more participation, do tell please! Every recommendation is welcome.:169:

Thank you for such a detailed comment, the descriptions sound interesting. I'm playing Torikago no Marriage at the moment and it will take at least several days to finish it, but when I do, I will try games you recommended and share my impressions here.

I like investigative adventure style the most. I can only name 1 Otome game with that style - Liars! Uncover The Truth by Voltage, but I love Ace Attorney Visual Novel series, so I know I'll like any Otome games with similar gameplay as well.

I'm not sure, because I haven't played either yet, but isn't Kurayami no Hate de Kimi o Matsu something of the sort?

I don't mind either style as long as the interactions aren't too boring.

For example, VN mode should have sufficient choices... maybe at least one/10 minutes. Most mobile games handle that well while some PC & PSP games only have like 8-10 choices for a 4-5hr route T.T

Gameplay mustn't be repetitive and tedious... Tap games from Seec Inc. are my nightmares T.T even if their CGs are spectacular.

To be honest, as long as character & plot development is good, I can overlook my pain with either mode and still appreciate the game. For example, Black Wolf Saga takes forever to reach any choices, but I still love it.

PC, PSP games are long so if one choice per 10 minutes like you said will be nightmare lol

Cinders has lots of choices, sometimes even more often than once per 10 minutes, but I enjoyed it a lot, especially because consequences of those choices were really significant. I wish there were more games like this.

I think it's personal preference.
I started playing games because I got bored with manga and novels, so I was seeking more immersive games... which mean VNs with frequent choices.

I understand it may be a nightmare for developers, but I really struggled to stay awake during games that have few choices such as Black Wolves Saga Bloody Nightmares. The pacing of choices in Fashioning Little Miss Lonesome was good, but I still prefer the pace in Demonheart. There were a lot more options for each choice and they showed up really frequently.
